Alexander Carey's Adore Jewellery is an elegant studio gallery where visitors can witness his designs coming to life in a fusing of the East coast classic tradition inspired by his grandfather John Carey renowned designer of the Cape Cod "Screwball Bracelet" with the elemental freshness of the Pacific coast.
Alex's designs have evolved from his Massachusetts apprenticeship in the Carey tradition of artisanship into something entirely contemporary, fashionable, edgy, sparkling.Above all, they are unique and significant pieces of art.
Alexander now also designs jewellery using the Mokume Gane technique. Mokume Gane is the art of fusing different coloured metals together in distinctive layers and manipulating it into patterns. This form of metal work was developed by ancient Japanese Swordsmiths. The beautiful patterns that can be created with Mokume often resemble woodgrain. In fact, Mokume Gane actually means "Metal wood eye" in Japanese.
